Venture Capitalist

A venture capitalist is an investor who provides capital to startups and small businesses with perceived long-term growth potential. This is a very risky, yet potentially rewarding, form of investing that involves early or growth stage companies.

Valuation

Valuation is the analytical process of determining the current (or projected) worth of an asset or a company. In the context of private capital, valuation is critical for determining how much a company is worth in terms of market, asset-based, and return-on-investment perspectives.

Voting

Voting rights are the rights given to shareholders to vote on important corporate matters, such as electing directors or approving company policies. Voting typically occurs at a company’s annual meeting or through proxy voting.
